Admission Policy
MBA 2024-26

1.Result: 10th May 2024

This document details the process that will be adopted for selecting candidates for Admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIMS) for 2024-26.

IIM Sirmaur considers the Common Admission Test (CAT) as an evaluation criterion for admitting students in its MBA programs. Further, IIMS is part of the consortium of 10 participating IIMs that conducts the Common Admission Process (CAP). IIMS adopts a two-phase selection process. The first phase of the process is applied to all eligible candidates who meet the cut-off criteria as mentioned in Table 1 be shortlisted for a personal interview (PI).

The second phase consists of preparing the final selection/merit list based on the composite score arrived at using weightages as per valid CAT-2023 score, PI score, academic profile, work experience and diversity (academic disciplines and other criteria), as mentioned in Table-2. The selection process, parameters and weights are used uniformly for all applicants within a specific category. At IIM Sirmaur, we strongly believe that the class is richer when there are diverse experiences from different fronts. Sufficient candidates are shortlisted at each stage from each social category to meet the reservation requirement, as applicable as per Government of India norms.

Phase 1: Shortlist for Personal Interview (PI) based on CAT 2023

The minimum overall and sectional percentiles expected to be shortlisted for a PI is specified in the Table 1 below. The PI would be conducted through an online mode for this admission cycle as agreed among CAP members. The PI process will be common to IIMs which are participating in the Common Admission Process (CAP). The final decision regarding shortlisting cut-off and the number of shortlisted candidates to be invited for PI will be taken at CAP Directors’ meeting.
