The Strategic management area is a small, vibrant, communicative group involved in teaching, research, training/executive education, and consulting. Through its broad focus on Competitiveness, International Business, Leadership and organization Change, Stakeholder Management, and Ecosystems Strategies, the area enhances the profile of the business school in the domains of strategy formulation, execution, and their implications on business policy. The members of the area are involved in advisory roles on federal panels or as board members of various committees. The area offers training programs for practicing managers from a broad spectrum of organizations.
The research strategy revolves around co-authorship and multi-disciplinarity. The area members are actively involved in the research themes centered around Competitiveness, Business Strategy, Internationalization, Digital MNEs, Ecosystems, Stakeholder management, PPP models, and Sustainable business strategies.
The area focuses on strategies adopted by firms and the role of the top management in providing the direction to meet the goals set for the firm. The eclectic mix of offerings covers core areas–Strategy Planning and Formulation, Strategy Implementation and Control, while Competitiveness, International Business, Stakeholder Engagement and Management, Platform and Ecosystem Strategy, Public Private Partnership, and Management Consulting are offered as elective and doctoral courses at present. Through the industry expertise of its members, the area links the practice in the face of changing dynamics of the global economy to the course learning. In addition, the area aims to strengthen its offerings in M&A, Alliances, Innovations, Governance, and Entrepreneurship in the near future.
