Finance and Accounting
The Finance and Accounting (F&A) Area is involved in all three aspects of management education—teaching, research, and influencing consultancy practice and making policy. The F&A area is devoted to fostering relationships and improving teamwork between IIM Sirmaur, the corporate community, and the government. The MBA program at IIM Sirmaur is also affiliated with the CFA Institute.
The area focuses on research excellence by having a multi-disciplinary orientation. Faculty members working in the area have published in international journals of repute in Finance & Accounting. The area has expertise in Financial Reporting and analysis, Management Accounting, Corporate Governance, Financial Management, Commodity Markets, Economic Policy Uncertainty, Mergers & Acquisitions, etc.
The area offers three core courses covering various aspects of Financial Reporting and Analysis, Management Accounting, and Financial Management. The area also offers various elective courses leading to specialization in finance and accounting. The elective courses are Corporate Valuation and Restructuring, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Financial Statement and Analysis, Managing Life and Business-Perspectives of a CFO, Commercial Bank Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, International Finance, Private Equity & Venture Capital, Financial Derivatives and Risk Management, Project Finance, FinTech.
