MBA (Family Managed Businesses)

This document details the process that will be adopted for selecting candidates for Admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Family Managed Businesses at the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIMS) for 2024-26.

IIM Sirmaur considers the Common Admission Test (CAT) as an evaluation criterion for admitting students in its MBA programs. The final selection/merit list based on the composite score arrived at using weightages as per valid CAT-2023 or CAT-2022 score , PI score, academic profile, and diversity as mentioned in the table below. The selection process, parameters and weights are used uniformly for all applicants within a specific category. At IIM Sirmaur, we strongly believe that the class is richer when there are diverse experiences from different fronts. Sufficient candidates are shortlisted at each stage from each social category to meet the reservation requirement, as applicable as per Government of India norms.

Graduation in any Discipline
Mustbe an Owner /scion of the Family Business
ValidCAT-2023 or CAT-2022 percentile

Phase 1: Shortlisting for PI

The candidate will be shortlisted based on CAT-2023 or CAT-2022 score to be decided by the admission committee. The shortlisted candidates will be invited for PI.

Points to note:

  1. Offersof Admission under any category/quota shall be strictly in order of merit in accordance with the selection parameters and composite score obtained by a candidate.
  2. Theadmission committee of IIM Sirmaur holds the discretion to change any part of the admission policy at any point in time during the admission process.
  3. It is recommended that students complete their bachelor exams, if any, before theclasses at IIM Sirmaur begin in October 2024.
  4. Anymisrepresentation or suppression of information by a candidate at any stage during the admissions process or at any later date, will lead to immediate disqualification of the candidate from the MBA program of IIMS and the onus of the responsibility and its consequences of misrepresentation or suppression of information lies on the candidate.

Any dispute concerning admissions to IIM Sirmaur would be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh only.
