Industry Advisory Board

The MBA (Tourism Management) programme is guided by a High-Level Industry Advisory Board (IAB), comprising senior leaders and domain experts from tourism and allied sectors. The IAB provides a strategic interface between industry and academia, ensuring that curriculum design, pedagogy, and student outcomes remain aligned with evolving industry requirements.

The Board brings practitioner insight into programme delivery and enables continuous feedback loops between industry practices and academic content, allowing timely adaptation to sectoral shifts.

The IAB contributes in the following areas:

  • Advise on curriculum design, skill development, and programme relevance
  • Support experiential learning through live projects, internships, events, and consulting engagements
  • Mentor students on industry expectations and career pathways
  • Provide inputs on emerging trends, including tourism convergence with sports, entertainment, and event ecosystems
  • Strengthen internship and placement pipelines through active industry engagement

Piyush Tiwari is an experienced leader with over 37 years in marketing, business development, strategic planning, and team building. He served as Whole-time Director (Commercial & Marketing) and held additional charge as CMD/MD on three occasions at India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), where he helped transform the organisation into a multi-faceted entity catering to diverse hospitality and tourism needs. He also served as part-time Director in five ITDC joint ventures and an independent company under the Ministry of Tourism. Prior to ITDC, he held senior leadership roles at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (Visakhapatnam Steel Plant). Listed in the Data Bank of Independent Directors by IICA, Piyush now offers his expertise as an advisor and consultant to business entities.
