India has assumed the G20 Presidency with effect from 1st December, 2022 for a year up to 30th November, 2023.The G20 EMPOWER, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, organised its Inception Meeting at Taj Convention, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India during 11th to 12th February, 2023. The theme of the Inception meeting at Agra is “Empowering Women to Lead across Sectors: Role of Digital Skilling and Future Skills."
Dr. Prafulla Agnihotri, Director IIM Sirmaur graced the event as one of the esteemed panelists for the parallel Session on ‘Expanding the scope of e-networking and e-learning to address financing and marketing challenges faced by women’s entrepreneurs’.
India’s G-20 Presidency theme of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ - One Earth, One Family, One Future’ stresses upon the need for an inclusive, ambitious, decisive and action-oriented approach towards our common future in which women’s empowerment and women-led development are key aspects. Under the G-20 Presidency, India will be taking forward the cause of women’s empowerment and women-led development based on a life cycle continuum approach where issues of health, education and economic and social empowerment will be addressed.
