IIM Sirmaur organised a lecture on “Tech–Driven Transformation in MICE and Tourism: Shaping Tomorrow’s Experiences Today” delivered by Mr. Sandeep Nagpal, VP & Head of Marketing and Communications at Cvent.

Bringing in ample experience from the field of the MICE industry, Mr. Nagpal started by setting the context on the powerfulness of AI, Tourism as a significant employment generator, and how the latter is transitioning now because of the former and gradually narrowed it down to the MICE sector.

He elaborated on how MICE as a B2B segment is getting disrupted by ever-evolving technology and how it has affected the trends of the MICE industry in 2024.

Mr. Nagpal highlighted the important factors contributing to the growth of this segment. He also explained the untapped potential of MICE in India and the challenges to overcome to make India a leader in this potential industry. He concluded the session by circling down to the adoption of technology in this segment and its challenges.
