Dr. Sonali Shankar has received her doctoral degree in the area of Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Before joining IIM Sirmaur, Dr. Sonali was an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Business School, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana, in its Information Systems & Analytics domain. During her Ph.D., Dr. Sonali worked on the application of information systems for decision-making in an organization. Her work has been published in high-impact journals such as Industrial Management and Data Systems, and Benchmarking: An International Journal. Dr. Sonali was awarded the Commonwealth Split-Site Ph.D. Scholarship in 2019 to carry forward her research work with the experts from the UK university for a duration of one year. She is on the reviewer committee of journals like the Journal of Enterprise Information Management, International Journal of Systems Assurance Engineering and Management, and Maritime Technology and Research. Currently, she is focusing on information systems theory development and the application of information, communication, and technology (especially blockchain and artificial intelligence) for sustainable business practices and information systems for social good.
