IIM Sirmaur Celebrates 71st Independence Day

IIM Sirmaur family joined the nation in celebrating the 71st Independence Day of India. The day that started with the unfurling of the tricolour by Prof. (Dr.) Neelu Rohmetra, Director, IIM Sirmaur, was followed by the singing of the national anthem.

Addressing on the occasion, the Director emphasized on the role of the youth of the country in taking the nation forward. The founding fathers of India and all our martyrs steered the nation toward freedom, peace, prosperity and equality of opportunity, they could not live to see the free India they envisioned and fought so hard for. The onus was now on the youth to take India to the pinnacle of success. Our principles, values and ethics should be the foundation of our being and drive us to do good and achieve all we can while we strive to create a new India an India of our dreams. She focussed on the need for a unique variant of management education that connects us to our roots and to our people that would eventually contribute in man-making and nation-building. The Director concluded by urging the students to work toward realizing the dreams of a stronger and prosperous India by employing our education and our philosophy of philanthropy that we are globally known for.

Days of hard work culminated with stellar performances by the students as they sang, danced and performed a skit on themes of patriotism and prevalent societal norms.
