Central Vigilance Commission, the apex integrity institution of the country, endeavours to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public life. Observance of Vigilance Awareness week every year is part of a multi-pronged approach of the Commission. On the same lines, IIM Sirmaur is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 30 to November 4, 2017. The first day of Vigilance Awareness Week at IIM Sirmaur saw the faculty, staff and students taking the integrity pledge. Prof. Nivisha Singh welcomed the participants and set the context of the event.
Prof. (Dr.) Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur addressed the gathering. She stressed upon the importance of integrity in professional and personal lives. Being true to oneself is the starting point to becoming a responsible citizen. Truthful and honest efforts will always pay good dividends. Youth can become agents of change. She strongly encouraged students to take active participation in the process of eradicating corruption. The Director's speech was followed by a pledge taking ceremony, in which the students took an oath to act in public interest by following probity and rule of law, and to report any incident of corruption. Various events are lined up for the week such as panel discussion, slogan writing competition and video making contest.
