Stop Discrimination Against Women Pakhwada from 25th Nov 2022 – 10th Dec 2022
The Sexual Harassment Committee (Internal Complaints Committee) at IIM Sirmaur observed 25th November 2022 as the “International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women” and conducted an awareness program on the above theme in the form of various cultural activities performed by the students of IIM Sirmaur.
This initiative was taken by up the institute under the able guidance of Professor Prafulla Y. Agnihotri, Director, IIM Sirmaur, to raise awareness, promote advocacy, and create better opportunities for women in today’s world. Dr. Devika Vashisht, Presiding Officer, ICC, IIM Sirmaur coordinated the event along with other ICC committee members, Dr. Alka Chadha, Dr. Anshu and Ms. Gurmeet Kaur. Dr. K. Selvanathan, Senior Consultant (Administration) addressed gathering about important and basic initiatives that can be taken by an individual to stop violence against women in the society. Faculty, staff and students of IIM Sirmaur attended the event and made it a huge success. Also, IIM Sirmaur took up the initiative to spread awareness among all the stakeholders of the society regarding stop discrimination against women in all phases of life by observing the 16 days’ duration i.e., from 25 th Nov 2022 to 10 th Dec 2022 as “Stop Discrimination Against Women Pakhwada”.
