December 5, 2017: Dr. Rajen K. Gupta, Professor of Organizational Behavior at MDI Gurgaon led an interactive session on fostering creative research in the management sciences today. He spoke at length about the need to bridge the contrasting sites of the resource and knowledge-rich educational institution, the greater society, and the industry through innovative research in applied social science. He stressed that Management should be seen as a knowledge domain in its own right. Furthermore, it should be approached as a contextual activity. Therefore students of management sciences should be trained in a variety of research methods. In the session, chaired by Professor (Dr.) Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur and attended by faculty members, Dr. Gupta called to make management training less limiting.
The session is part of a series of workshops and guest lectures conceived by Dr. Rohmetra aimed at creating a lively dialogue around trans-cultural issues in the management sciences and collecting actionable inputs from established academics in order to move forward both institutionally as well as collectively.
