Biography

Dr. Aishwarya Harichandan completed her doctorate in Economics from the Centre for International Trade and Development, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She specialized in the field of Game Theory, using it to look at the strategic problem of terrorism. She holds an MPhil in Economics and Masters in Economics (with Specialization in World Economy) from the Centre for International Trade and Development, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and B.A. (Honours) Economics from Delhi University. Before becoming a part of the IIM Sirmaur family, she was working as an Assistant Professor at Christ (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR Campus. She has been a Ford Foundation Fellow, a University Grants Commission Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow. She has also cleared the National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission.

Her teaching interests include Microeconomics, Game Theory, International Economics, Behavioral Economics and Environmental Economics. Her research areas include Economics of Crime, International Trade and Law and Economics. She has published her work in international refereed journal and she contributes to the opinion page of newspapers. She has presented her research work at various international conferences including Asia Meeting of the Econometric Society (IIT Delhi), PAN IIM Conference, ISI Delhi Conference and DSE Winter School.

Teaching and Research Interest

Teaching interests: Microeconomics, Game Theory, International Economics, Behavioral Economics and Environmental Economics.

Research interests: Economics of Crime, International Trade and Law and Economics.
