Biography

Dr. Sanja Samirana Pattnayak as an Associate Professor in the area of Economics and Business Environment. He completed his doctorate in Economics from the National University of Singapore (NUS), MPhil. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was a distinguished Singapore Millennium Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Economics at National University of Singapore (NUS). He also worked as Research Fellow at various Institutes at NUS and taught Economics at NUS Business School. Prior to joining IIM Sirmaur, he was Associate Professor in the Area of Economics and Public Policy at Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli and Xavier School of Economics, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. 

His teaching interests are in the area on Microeconomics, International economics, Health economics, Econometrics and Industrial Organization. His research interests are focused broadly on applied economics and econometrics. He has specifically worked on issues related to productivity growth, efficiency and R&D, health care and health outcome research, and global value chain. His research papers have been published in many international peer reviewed journals such as Applied Economics, Economic Modelling, World Economy, Journal of Economic Studies and Keio Economics.
