He encouraged the students to develop a holistic approach and think beyond the pecuniary aspects of their professional life. He also emphasized the importance of ‘unlearning’ and relearning in the 21st century. Reiterating Alvin Toffler, he said that today’s world sees ‘too much change in too short a period of time’. The students participated enthusiastically. They inquired about the qualities that the corporates seek from young managers. Mr. Dasgupta highlighted how today’s managers are primarily ‘people-handlers’ and how a deep understanding of the grass-root helps them. The interactive session with Mr. Dasgupta allowed the students to have a fair understanding of the recruitment scenario across industries.
