TWO DAY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT BEGINS AT IIM SIRMAUR
A two-day annual leadership summit Nirmaan 4.0 was inaugurated today on 13 Nov 2021 at Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh. This is the fourth Edition of the Leadership Summit series which is named as ‘Nirmaan’.
Prof (Dr) Neelu Rohmetra Director IIM Sirmaur in her inaugural address encouraged the audiences of the summit and congratulated the organizing committee on bringing together a fantastic event with esteemed industry leaders and entrepreneurs. She shared her insights on the theme of the event ‘crucible leadership’. She elucidated on various aspects of effective leadership, and the role of a leader in change management. She talked about her own journey and need for greater emphasis on diversity and women empowerment. She also commented on the dynamic environment of the modern corporate world which demands more commitment and willingness to shoulder responsibilities from a leader. She emphasized, “ Leaders can be more effective if they can handle adversity and challenges systematically”.
The first panel of the day comprised of top notch executives such as Mr. Kiran Krishnamurthy, VP, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Mr. Debashish Ghosh, VP & Head - Human Resources, Berkadia India, Mr. Shantanu Dhar, CHRO, Hindustan Power, Mr. Pradipta Sahoo, Advisor to BOD, Bank of India, Mr. Malhar Barai, Head marketing, Tech Mahindra, Mr. Sandeep Shukla, GM, Jaquar. The Panel was moderated by Ms. Sunanda Banerjee, Founder of CoEmerge. The panel contemplated the topic of "Changing Leader, Changing Organisation". Panel shared impactful insights with the students.
The second panel brought together excellent individuals like Ms. Bhuvana Subramanyan, CMO, Randstad India, Puneet Jain, Vice president, Clarivate, Sudiip K Goswami, Director & GM, Dell Technologies, Dr. Akhil Prasad, Director, Boeing, Sunil David, Regional Director, AT&T on the topic of "Leading Gen-Z". Mr. Puneet Jain, Vice president, Clarivate, moderated the session, and the panel shared incredible knowledge and anecdotes with the students.
The day's third panel consisted of an esteemed panel of guests such as Mr. Pramod Gupta, Director, Valueonshore Advisors, Dr.Rashi Gupta, Founder, Vision Mechatronics Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Anupam Dutta Director, Headway BPO Solutions, Mr. Vidya Bhushan Co-Founder, Daalchini Technologies. It was moderated by Ms. Anjali Gurmukhani Sharma, India Education Lead, Charter for Compassion. They discussed the topic of "Embracing Adversity". They shared some valuable insights on how adversity could be used to create opportunities and create a new path for employment by leveraging technology.
The fourth panel of the day consisted of a highly talented panel of guests such as Ms. Dipashree Das, Lead Film Marketing, Global OTT Content Platform, Mr. Ashish Pratap Singh, CMO, Rehlat, Mr. Ashwini Saxena CEO, JSW Foundation and was moderated by Mr. Sudhansu Misra, CHRO, Tata Coffee. The discussion stressed the importance of change and preempting it by quoting various anecdotes and mentioning the speakers' personal experiences.
The first day the Annual Leadership Summit of IIM Sirmaur was graced by speakers from various multinational companies. It was organized successfully with enriching knowledge discussions among the panels and the students of IIM Sirmaur.

Annual Leadership Summit Concludes at IIM Sirmaur
The two day annual leadership summit of Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur concluded on 14 Nov 2021. This was the fourth edition of the annual summit named “NIRMAAN”.
The second day began with the panel formed of individuals such as Mr. Gurvinder Singh (CFO, Mitsubishi Electric), Ms. Krithika Sriram (Senior Vice President Marketing, Zee Entertainment Enterprises), Mr. Amlesh Sinha (Vice President of Engineering, MakeMyTrip and Goibibo), Ashish Dwivedi (CEO, Birla White, Ultratech Cement Ltd) and Mr. Priyabrata Sarangi (Chief Information Officer, DCM Shriram Industries Ltd) who shared some of their valuable insights on the topic, “Success through Synergy”. They discussed the importance of collaboration and how to contribute together to reach a common goal.
The next panel of the day included veteran corporate leaders like Mr. Ranganathan S (Executive Vice President, Head, Weapon & Engineering Systems & Corporate Centre Defence IC at L&T Ltd.), Mr. Vinod Bhat (Chief Information Officer, Vistara - TATA SIA Airlines Ltd.), Dr. Natwar Kadel (Head- Centre of Expertise, People Strategy at Hyundai Motor India Ltd.) and Sandeep Nagpal (Vice President - Marketing, Cvent) who interacted with on the topic, “Diversity in Leadership” and highlighted the importance of inclusion in the current scenario.
The third panel brought together wonderful speakers like Mr. Kartik Narayan (Executive Vice President & Head - Strategic Accounts at Vodafone Idea Limited), Mr. Abhishek Gupta (Chief Marketing Officer, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance), Mr. Sandeep Tyagi (Head-HR of Uflex Ltd), Mr. Bharat Moossaddee (Chief Financial Officer, Mahindra & Mahindra) and Mr. Arjun Dasoondi (Associate Vice President, Amway I&S) who carried a discussion on the topic, “Reinventing team leadership”. The speakers talked about the changes undertaken by them to reinvent themselves and the organization in the pre-covid and post-covid eras.
The last panel of the day and the summit comprised of a highly talented panel of guests such as Ms. Rita Kakati Shah (Founder & CEO, Uma), Ms. Aparajita Amar (Co-Founder, SHLC), Mr. Yash Arora (CFO, Indian Oil-Adani Gas), Mr. Sahil Nayar (Sr. Associate Director, KPMG) and Ms. Nidhi Bhardwaj (Senior HR Business Partner, Danaher Corp) who engaged with students on the topic, “Closing the Gender Gaps” by sharing their experiences and valuable insights. At the end, Dr. Bhavin Shah, Chairperson Placements and Alumni Affairs, IIM Sirmaur addressed members and thanked the guests for spending their valuable time and sharing knowledge with the students. He also commended the student bodies of IIM Sirmaur for the successful organization of the summit. Overall, it was a valuable experience for the Institution and the students. It helped in connecting with the various Industry Leaders whose vast knowledge and experience made all the panel discussions insightful and enlightening.
