The first year PGP students of IIM Sirmaur organized an industry visit to Tirupati Medicare Ltd on 12 Dec 2017. Tirupati Group is one of the largest and fastest growing companies, providing end-to-end solutions from research to product launch with multiple manufacturing facilities based out of Paonta Sahib. The group is highly diversified, catering to a variety of broad segments like Pharmaceuticals, Nutraceuticals, Ayurveda and a very niche segment like Sports Nutrition.
The industrial visit provided students with a glimpse of real life manufacturing operations and augmented the classroom learning obtained during Operations Management course. The group was accompanied by Prof S Venkataramaiah (IIML) and Prof Rakesh V.
The students had the privilege to interact with senior leadership of the organisation, including Mr Sunil Kanojia (Director), Mr J. Mohan (VP, R&D and RA), Mr Vinod Shukla (CQA), Mr Prashant Kumar (GM, HR), Ms Rimjhim Nabh (VP, HR), Mr Aneesh Mamgain (Dy Mgr,HR) and other members of senior management. The students were then taken for a plant visit where the employees at each unit explained about the nuances of operations.
