A proud moment for Team Sankalp, IIM Sirmaur, as we marked the culmination of the a-week-long World Environment Health celebrations with a thought-provoking lecture by Padma Shri Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan ma'am, Director, Jimmy McGilligan Centre For Sustainable Development, Indore.
Dr. McGilligan is a well known social worker and also the founder of the Barli Development Institute for Rural Women along with her Irish husband, late Mr. Jimmy McGilligan. With sheer devotion to the cause, they successfully empowered numerous rural as well as tribal women, spreading knowledge, awareness, and imparting values, thereby contributing to their holistic development.
It was an honor to host a woman so dedicated to her cause, that even after surviving a terrible accident that left her a widow, she never once deterred from her chosen path. We are grateful to ma'am for taking her valuable time and sharing with us enthralling information on Sustainable Development - a need of the hour.
