IIM Sirmaur is hosting a two-day book exhibition on campus from November 23, 2017 to November 24, 2017. Spearheaded by the Library Advisory Committee Chairperson Prof. Pradipta Patra, the exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur earlier today. In her address, Dr. Rohmetra pointed out that library resources and research databases are the driving forces of a higher education institution as they facilitate research and publication by faculty members. The support of stakeholders like booksellers and publishers is thus crucial in building balanced and robust knowledge repositories. This is the first book exhibition at IIM Sirmaur during Dr. Rohmetra's tenure as Director, and she expressed confidence that such initiatives will only increase as the Institute grows.
The exhibition includes representatives from major academic publishing houses and vendors such as Sage, Taylor and Francis, etc. with a substantial display of titles related to the management studies as well as of general interest. Both students and faculty members can recommend titles they find potentially useful to the Library Advisory Committee for future inclusions in the repository. This is the first of many drives to considerably expand as well as diversify the IIM Sirmaur library as well as forge connections with the publishing industry to better disseminate future research generated at IIM Sirmaur.
