The unveiling of the event was done by the honorable guests: Mr. Amit Godkar, Deputy Manager, HR and Lead, Fresher Campus Recruitment Capgemini, and Mr. Jinesh Jain, Program Manager – Capgemini Consulting. The two stalwarts conducted a highly interactive session with the students on 'Digital transformation of consumer business'. Opening the session, Mr. Amit Godkar, introduced the students to the 50 glorious years of Capgemini and its remarkable journey so far. He explained how inclusivity across all barriers, forms the core value of the organization and how giving importance to people helps the organization accomplish more: People driven by values striving for value-driven outcomes.
Mr. Jinesh Jain started by explaining the extent of the use of technology in the digital transformation of the consumer business to solve the consumer problems. No industry is immune to digital transformation. In the context of the evolution of technology, Mr. Jain stated, “Adoption time of newer technologies for the first 50 million users has been exponentially compressed, from 75 years for the telephone to 14 days for Pokemon Go!” The speakers emphasized the ever-changing nature of technology, as a result of which, the status quo of the traditional methods is being continually threatened. They also made the students aware of the future trends of this digital transformation and stressed that the way forward was to rethink the existing business models so that the companies can cope with digital transformation to stay alive in the market.
Describing how the event gave value to the students, first-year student Soumit Mukherjee mentioned that their insights about the latest trends shaping the current and future business scenarios will be helpful in the long run.
