Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur received the 'First Ladies Award' on January 20th, 2018. The felicitation event was held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, wherein she joined over interaction with 100 other exceptional women achievers in the Country in varied areas.
Guest lecture (centred on Future of Banking) at IIM Sirmaur
In his first guest lecture (centred on Future of Banking) at IIM Sirmaur, Mr. Rajiv Vaid shed light on how the advent of new banking technologies such as Block Chain is gradually eliminating the need for banks altogether. He also touched upon the emerging trends and key focus areas in banking, both from the perspective of consumers as well as banks.
Guest Lecture (Transformation To New Leadership Roles)
In the third guest lecture of the Colloquium series centered on the theme “Transformation to new leadership roles”, Mr. Krishnan Venkiteswaran, Head HR, Control Print Limited, shed light on various leadership styles and the relevance of each in today’s day and age.
IIM Sirmaur hosted Mr. Santosh Wakhloo, Vice President, JK Paper Ltd., who delivered a guest lecture on ‘Leadership’ to the students of PGP04 batch. Mr. Wakhloo talked about the role of a leader in thinking big, planning big and creating differentiation.
Guest Lectures ''Social Business as a transformational approach''

IIM Sirmaur feels privileged to host Mr. Sunil Kanojia, Director, Tirupati Medicare Ltd. India, for interacting with the students on the topic “Campus to Corporate transformation” under the guest lecture series, Colloquium.
“Why is changing the only constant in the world? Who was the first person who led the change in Human Life?”, Mr. Dharm Rakshit, Head HR, Hero Motocorp Ltd., asked the students, in the latest guest lecture of the Colloquium Series centred on the theme, “Leading change”.
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Hon’ble Director IIM Sirmaur, received the guard of honour and unfurled the National Flag.
As one of the major milestones since its establishment, Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur signed on March 06, 2019 Memorandum of Understanding with Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Government of India for construction of its Phase I of Buildings and Infrastructure of permanent campus at Dhaula Kuan, District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh.
Placements is a student-run activity under the supervision of a faculty member serving as the Chairman, Placements. The student placement coordinators are appointed after a rigorous selection process.
For the Summer Internships of the batch 2015-2017, companies like Pearson India, Dexter Consultancy Private Limited, VAS Data Services Private Limited (Yepme), Teach For India etc. offered profiles such as Data Analyst, Brand Executive, Management Intern, Sales and Marketing, and Research and Design. The placement committee is committed towards making continuous improvements to the Summer and Final Placements process.
The Cultural Committee
One of the most prized possession of the institute is the cultural diversity brought in by the students belonging to various states and cultures. The Cultural Committee cherishes the cultural diversity by celebrating various festivals, and conducting events like bon fires, Dj nights, movie screenings etc. It serves as a platform for the students to hold social gatherings and relish with each-other in their leisure. The committee is looking forward to contribute towards the first IIM Sirmaur festival to be organized this year.
The Business Conclave Committee
The Business Conclave Committee is entrusted with the responsibility of serving as an interface between industry and the students. Currently, the committee is working on organizing IIM Sirmaur’s first Business Conclave-‘Prayag’. It is also planning to organize Human Resources Conclave in the near future.
The Entrepreneur Cell (E-Cell)

The entrepreneur committee is one of the most coveted committees of an institute. The presence of business acumen is an imperative not just for aspiring entrepreneurs but also for those who want to make their presence felt in the corporate world. The E-Cell is committed to foster the sprit of entrepreneurship among the students. It provides a platform for mentoring and training and helps students to convert their ideas into self-sustaining ventures. To this end, the E-Cell regularly organizes relevant guest lectures and workshops.
The Sports Committee
“A healthy mind resides in a healthy body”
The Sports Committee has organized various inter-college competitions for Chess, Volleyball, Box Cricket and Badminton. The committee is also planning to conduct Football, Lawn Tennis and Table Tennis competitions. Being a part of a new college, the Committee has put in a lot of efforts to develop the sporting infrastructure, and it is gearing up to conduct its first ever Inter College Meet this year. The committee also helps the institute teams, in terms of providing all the necessary support, to enable them to participate in the events conducted by the other colleges.
Sankalp - The Corporate Social Responsibilty Club

Today, the goals of the corporates also include contribution to the development and welfare of society and what’s a better place to inculcate such values in future managers than a B-school? ‘Sankalp’ believes in starting early and progressing steadily. With its help, IIM Sirmaur organized a clothes donation drive in which over 500 pieces of clothes were collected and distributed to the underprivileged section. The committee also conducted the “Best out of Waste” competition and the Cleanliness Drive as part of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. Recently, Sankalp organized the first Blood Donation drive at IIM Sirmaur.
The Media Committee
The Media Committee works as a liaison between the Institute and the outer world through print, digital as well as social media. It stays au courant with all the significant events happening in the institute, and communicates them to the wider world through various media outlets. The committee manages the content on social media platforms and interacts with the relevant stakeholders with an aim to enhance the visibility of the institute. The committee manages IIM Sirmaur’s official Facebook page and Twitter handle, and it is in the process of extending the institute’s presence over LinkedIn and Instagram. It is also working on starting a blog for students and professors and releasing a yearbook featuring the most memorable events involving IIM Sirmaur.
The Mess Committee
The mess of IIM Sirmaur is student-driven and the committee aims at providing homely and nutritious food to the students as well as to the staff members. It maintains strict quality standards to ensure that students are served healthy and hygienic food. It is always striving to make improvements and enjoys the continuous support of the administration. It helps immensely in the institute’s endeavor of providing a home away from home. In future, the Committee would be organizing food festivals based on regional cuisines and various events such as Chaat Haat, Shakes and Sizzlers etc.
The Student Council
The Student Council is the apex body of students whose members are elected by the student body of the institute. It represents the students before the management and it is responsible for putting forward all the academic and non-academic issues. It ensures the proper functioning of all the clubs and committees and implementation of new student initiatives. It engages the students in the overall development of the institute by conducting regular meetings, taking up grievances and addressing them in a time bound manner.
