On 17th August 2018, IIM Sirmaur launched its maiden guest lecture under the brand 'Colloquium', which aims at creating an open dialogue between the academia and industry.
Finally, the 10 days of joy and festivities culminated with Ganesha Visarjan. On the last day of Ganesh festival, IIM Sirmaur bid farewell to Lord Ganesha only to welcome him again next year.
In his first guest lecture (centred on Future of Banking) at IIM Sirmaur, Mr. Rajiv Vaid shed light on how the advent of new banking technologies such as Block Chain is gradually eliminating the need for banks altogether. He also touched upon the emerging trends and key focus areas in banking, both from the perspective of consumers as well as banks.
In the third guest lecture of the Colloquium series centered on the theme “Transformation to new leadership roles”, Mr. Krishnan Venkiteswaran, Head HR, Control Print Limited, shed light on various leadership styles and the relevance of each in today’s day and age.

Mess
A student run mess is present in the hostel compound and serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines. The mess offers a healthy mix of different Indian tastes originating from different states. Mess affairs are overlooked by mess secretary which is elected by students. He / She is responsible for the smooth functioning of the mess including the maintenance of the overall quality of the food and cleanliness of the highest order.
Mess also serves as the common room for the students and the TV installed there caters to the recreational needs of students.
